Dear President Biden and Vice President Harris,

We are 117 Israeli physicians and medical personnel who would like to express our support for the American Medical Professionals letter sent to President Biden and Vice President Harris on Oct 2nd.

For the past year, we have witnessed from afar the terrible humanitarian calamities in Gaza - the bombing of civilians, including women and children; the famine; the infectious epidemics; the lack of medical supplies and medications and the military attacks on healthcare facilities.

Since the October 7th massacre, we have been living in a state of constant turmoil- thousands of citizens are evacuees, over a hundred are still hostages in Gaza and dozens were killed by missiles or terror attacks. We have treated casualties, soldiers with PTSD, children with anxiety and returned hostages.

Unfortunately, as Israeli civilians, we cannot offer any medical assistance or support to the thousands of Gaza patients in need, not even to the many chronically ill patients who had been treated in Israeli hospitals before October 7th.

Despite ongoing protests in Israel against the current government, against prime minister Netanyahu and against Israel’s policy of ongoing war and occupation, we feel helpless and unable to influence the state of affairs.

We feel it is crucial that you know many of us oppose the war and the actions of the State of Israel in it.
We too, as stated in the American healthcare workers’ letter, are simply healing professionals who cannot remain silent about the ongoing disaster taking place in Gaza in our name, and we too urge you, to stop the madness.
